We are a Volusia County, Florida based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing brand-new sneakers to underprivileged and foster children throughout our community. Our organization was founded on the belief that something as simple as a properly fitting pair of shoes can restore a child’s confidence, support their participation in school activities, and remove a small but real barrier to their success.

March 2025
Our Story❤️On March 4, 2025, we lost our youngest son Brett to a home invasion. Police told us he died his friends. John 15:13 The unimaginable journey of love and grief since that day for me, Brett’s mom, has only been possible because of my faith in the Lord. Precious friends and family are also a large part of navigating all the emotions which come with losing a child. On July 27th, my husband David & I attended Redemption Church where Pastor Chad was giving his testimony of the loss of his wife and daughter to cancer years earlier. During his testimony, he said the words ‘Joy in Motion’ which spoke a sense of comfort and purpose to my grieving spirit. Those three words began to take hold and thus began the journey of turning profound grief into ‘Living for my beloved son’. In other words ~ ‘Joy in Motion’.While sharing with my friend, Tina Hampsey, she said how about taking this one step further by creating ‘Kids in Motion’ where we can provide much needed sneakers for underprivileged and foster kids. Thus began our journey together for a very worthy cause.July 2025 In July we started the process of becoming a 501(c)3 charity. Our board has been created. All of the charity paperwork has been filed. Kids in Motion FL is just waiting on the 501(c)3 paperwork and we will be able to hit the road. We also created a Facebook page and are in the middle of designing our website.
September 2025
Kids in Motion FL had their first board meeting. We received our first donation of shoes.October 2025
We kicked off with a Kids in Motion FL shoe drive with our amazing neighbors on Sand Bar Lane's monthly social! Our great neighbors all donated shoes for kids in need.
